Due to the new Template Customizer feature added in Connections 8.4 the templates Excerpt, Slim and Tile have become largely redundant and are being retired. Here are a few questions I thought might be asked…
What does this mean if I purchased one of these recently?
Well, honestly, not much. They will still be supported for the next year and receive any maintenance updates that they might require.
What about the Plus variations of the templates being retired?
Those will continue to be available and they will receive a major update to support the Template Customizer in the coming weeks.
Can I update to the Plus variation?
Absolutely! To upgrade go to your Purchase History and click the View Licenses link for the purchase which included the retired template, from there you can view your upgrade options. The upgrade price will be prorated, meaning the price of the retired template will be deducted from the full price of the upgrade.
